Saturday Club dates will be confirmed once we know what is happening with COVID and restrictions see here for details, when arriving please follow the protocol set out in this video.(to be reinstated soon)

Saturday Club is designed to introduce young people to the joy of sailing and allow them to gain confidence about being on the water and have fun with other children typically aged between 5 and 15 years old.

It is run by volunteers and open to members, the volunteers generally have participating children, there is Beach Master, coordinator and Oppie & Topper leaders. Parents are encouraged to help out in any way they can with rigging, carrying, driving safety boats and coaching. This is not a child minding service, parents must stay down at the club with their children. The Club and use of boats is only available to club members, there is a limit on available boats so on busy days children have to share, but that can be an advantage as the more experienced can mentor the less experienced. Skill is not age dependant and often younger children share experience and knowledge with older ones, and of course many participants make friends at the club (including parents).

Saturday Club normally runs between May and August subject to the Club covid policy and suitable volunteers. Sessions start at 9.30am and finishing by 12.30pm, in time for lunch on the balcony. The will be restrictions over numbers and it is essential to pre-book in the preceding week.

The club aims to provide a mixture of boat orientated games and adventures to give the youngsters confidence on the water. They then progress to more structured sailing with an element of competitiveness introduced. Activities are weather dependent and can be constrained by the number of participants or indeed volunteer helpers available on the day. To find out more come down and join us from 9 am onwards during the season or email your enquiry to .

There is currently no charge for this facility (members) but parents are requested to be proactive in maintaining the fleet of boats and helping out

If you are looking for more structured training then we recommend our RYA training courses for Juniors as well as Adults.
